Lip aesthetics is the process of correcting the lips, whose shape, structure and fullness have deteriorated due to various reasons, in the most appropriate way. Lip aesthetics are provided by many methods, but aesthetic plastic surgery provides the most permanent and effective results. Deeper and bigger problems can be solved with surgical intervention. Lip thickening, thinning, redesign of the shape and congenital lip disorders, lip disproportions, rabbit lips, etc. Conditions can be corrected surgically. For this reason, it solves these problems in serious deformities where non-surgical procedures such as aesthetic plastic surgery, botox and filling cannot be a solution.
What Methods Is Lip Augmentation Performed in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery?
The process in question is carried out by 3 methods.
Use of artificial material: In this method, an artificial material that is compatible with the lip structure and gives fullness is placed on the lip in a shape and size deemed appropriate by the surgeon. These materials are ready-made filling materials or silicone-containing materials.
Autogenous use: These are the fillers of the lips that are taken directly from the patient and injected into his lips. In this technique, the raw material of the drug is the patient himself.
The method in which the lip mucosa is pushed up: In this method, the red area of the lip, which we call the mucosa, is moved up after the incision and tissue removal from the lower part of the nose. Thus, the lip is pushed up from the lower part. With this method, both the lip thickening is achieved and the distance is narrowed in people with a long nose-to-lip distance.
Lip Thinning Surgery:
These operations, like thickening operations, are performed under local anesthesia. As soon as the anesthesia is effective, a thin incision is made from the inside of the lips, that is, from the mouth, and an elliptical tissue is removed from the lips to provide thinning, and the operation is ended by closing the incision.
Since this procedure is a surgical intervention,
Swelling
redness
Effects such as bruising may be observed. These effects subside within 1 week and heal within 2 weeks. It is important that you follow your doctor’s recommendations in order to get through this process without getting infected and in the healthiest way possible.
Since the operations in question are performed on and around the sensitive tissue of the lip, the sensitivity to hot and cold is greatly increased. For this reason, it is forbidden to consume hot and cold during the period determined by the doctor after the surgery. Warm and liquid (feeding using a straw) should be consumed. Daily life can be continued without stretching the lips too much, without separating the two lips too much. Excessive facial expressions and laughing movements are also undesirable for a certain period after the surgery.
The healing processes of these operations are not different from other aesthetic operations. The healing process varies from person to person. It may take a few months for the lips to completely heal and take on their natural and new appearance, the shape to settle, and the stitch scars to heal.
